Martinborough Rural Women
Women all over New Zealand hosted Pink Ribbon Breakfasts during the month of May, in aide of breast cancer research projects and medical grants to help improve breast cancer survivorship in New Zealand.
Rural Women New Zealand is charitable, membership-based organisation which supports people in rural communities through learning opportunities, advocacy & connections.
Rural Women New Zealand, Martinborough Branch, hosted their Pink Ribbon event at Joslyn Colton’s home in Pironoa, on Saturday morning 21st May. Jenny Boyne and Catherine Hannagan helped Joslyn with food preparation. Caroline Nicol and Caroline Ross made the floral displays and pink bra cookies were made by Diane McGrigor. In true Rural Women collaborative style, the Rural Women chipped in to donate pink items for the two raffles.
The ladies attending the event were treated to muesli, berries and yoghurt followed by egg parcels on English muffins with sausage and bacon skewers. Tea and coffee with Joslyn’s famous eclairs concluded the festivities. The raffles were won by Delta and Deanna Hutchings. The event raised $900 and it was a fun way to raise funds for a worthy cause.
