If we would share with others the way we choose to live;

if justice and compassion inspired us all to give,

we would not need to worry that truths do not agree

– for all could live together in love and harmony.

First Church held a very successful Kirk Fair on the 12th of October, and our thanks are due to all the supporters of First Church who contributed in many different ways – donating goods, giving time and coming to buy!

The sight of our hall and grounds buzzing with friends, locals and visitors enjoying this event on a beautiful sunny morning gladdened our hearts and made the efforts of our team well worthwhile. We thank our seemingly tireless convener Pam Colenso to whom we also add our congratulations on her election to another term as a Councillor to the South Wairarapa District Council.

It is pleasing to report that the ongoing appeal for financial support has been met with a positive response as we work towards making our buildings sound and attractive for responded to the call, and we are still hoping for further support to tackle some large roofing and painting projects. For further information please contact Pam Colenso, Tel. O6 306 9503 or email pmcolenso@xtra.co.nz

Looking ahead as we approach the Christmas Season, plans are being made to hold another Combined Churches Advent Service of lessons and carols. Many of us recall the happy well attended service held in First Church in December last year. Please look out for posters with details round town nearer the time.
