over-p&k Thanks to the support of the Martinborough Business Association, balloons were once again seen flying over Martinborough in the early morning of Saturday 15 March.

In spite of an overcast morning and the threat of Cyclone Lusi in the air, those watching enjoyed seeing the colourful spectacle of around 15 Balloons flying over the Town Square, down Kitchener St, over the Holiday Park and beyond.

The competition was for the balloonists to attempt to drop sandbags into the trolleys below in the P&K car park and thanks to the skills of John Clifton and the steady aim of his crew in the balloon ‘Transwell’, they were declared the overall winners!

Thanks to the team at the Pukemanu Tavern for providing a good hearty breakfast for over 140 balloonists and their crew.
