So many lovely new books romping into the library at the moment.  The trend seems to be to have a mad title for the book which suits me fine as I love mad things (like shoes!).  Have a look at these titles:

The 100 year old man who climbed out the window and disappeared
The truth is a cave in the black mountains
The extraordinary journey of the fakir who got trapped in an IKEA wardrobe
The girl who saved the king of Sweden
These are all fiction books but some of the non-fiction are just as strange – but true.
The man who knew too much (about the assassination of JF Kennedy)
Sister mother husband dog (etc.) (memoir of Delia Ephron)
Mastering the art of Soviet cooking (Russian memoir)
Late for tea at the deer palace (history of Iran)

The new DVDs are flooding in as well.  Many, many children’s titles, all of which are free to borrow as well as new adult titles.  The adult ones are $2 for one wee.  Some of the new ones are Joss Whedon’s Much ado about nothing, The bridge, Game of Thrones, Justified, Death in Paradise, Wallander and Torchwood.

Calling all pre-schoolers – get those smart little brains moving and come to the new Book Babies sessions opening in August at Martinborough Library.  In addition to the traditional 10am session on a Tuesday morning, we are starting a bi-lingual English/Te Reo session and a full immersion Te Reo pre-school session.  Watch out for our grand opening signs.  Come and share in the fun – the more the merrier.

Please check out our website, https://ent.kotui.org.nz, which now has a new ‘Pathfinder’ area.  Each pathfinder will gives tips for finding information both in our libraries and online.  The two areas which have been completed are World War 1 and Maori Resources.

That’s all for now although I know as soon as I ping this off to Mike for publishing something exciting will pop up and it will then have to wait until September.  C’est la vie – come and see us instead and find out what it is.
