The library has been buzzing this last week or should I say Aaaaarrrrringg.  Friday 19 September was International talk like a pirate day.  Of course being adventurous librarians we had to dress up like pirates as well.   Many customers we had to pick up off the floor as they fell about laughing.  Check out the video taken of us singing a pirate song – see Martinborough Library Facebook.

In case you think all we do is dress up and play the fool, let me remind you that we offer the following:
Lovely sunny, warm space
Fantastic books to lend out
DVDs – free to children, $2 for adults
Magazines to tempt you
Newspapers to read
Free internet access and Wifi
Photocopying, including colour
Scanning, faxing and laminating
Preschool reading sessions in English and Te Reo
A quiet room to study and the company of a fun and welcoming crew of book lovers.
We are situated at the back of the Village Café in Kitchener Street and have a handy car park behind us off Ohio Street.  Call us on 06 306 9758 or email HYPERLINK “mailto:Martinborough@swdc.govt.nz”Martinborough@swdc.govt.nz or check out our website HYPERLINK “https://ent.kotui.org.nz/”https://ent.kotui.org.nz/ .  We also have a fun and informative Facebook page.  Come and see us and if you love being part of the library scene then join us as a volunteer – no money but you get all the fun!
