Mens Shed looking for more bikes

April 11, 2017 April 2017 No Comments

Last month Martinborough Mens Shed announced a project in partnership with the Martinborough School and Green Jersey Cycle Tours to recycle donated bicycles for school kids. The Shed has delivered 4 reconditioned bicycles and have two in repair for delivery soon.
Some of the donated bikes are too small for primary students so Martinborough Kindergarten has agreed to distribute to tiny tots as well. Three bikes have been delivered to them, complete with training wheels.

The Mens Shed will accept bikes in most any condition but please no complicated racing ones. We will tidy them up and with the advice and help of Green Jersey Cycle Tours get more kids riding on two wheels. Bring any bike to the shed on Wednesdays or Saturdays 10 to noon or, if pick up required, call Ric on 021 905 808 or email the Shed – MartinboroughShed@gmail.com.

The summer has been a busy one for members at the shed. The painting of the building is nearly competed and the flag pole and double doors at the front are currently being restored. With winter on the way, members are eager to take on small jobs from the community and sharpen tools and knives.
