From the mayor
I recently had the pleasure of presenting the prizes at the Martinborough Village Summer Pix competition. This wonderful idea was the brainchild of Trish Higginson who had seen similar photography competitions in other parts of New Zealand. The criteria were simply Martinborough and/or surrounds with a summer vibe.
The result was two hundred and forty fabulous photos showcasing our wonderful district. Entries came from all over, including overseas, and had the four judges deliberating for hours trying to choose a winner.
This is just another example of Martinborough stepping up and being proud of being what it is – a great place to live, work and play.
A big thanks must go to Trish for coming up with the idea and also to all those that supported the project. This includes the helpers, judges and our very generous businesses who donated all the wonderful prizes. Well done Martinborough.
