Martinborough Junior Hockey
We have come to the end of a fantastic hockey season, with only a couple of the Saturday games washed out at the Clareville turf. A big thank you to all the coaches and managers for their time and commitment to their teams at weekly games and practices throughout the winter. Also to all of the parents and families for your support at games – the children love having you there to cheer them on.
Wairarapa Representative Players: Congratulations to Charlotte Diederich, Jasmine Nelson, Freja Hughes, Erika Butler, Grace Daines, James Nelson, Jamie McLeod and Ralph McLeod who have been selected to play in the U13 Wairarapa representative teams. These teams have been fund raising and training hard for tournaments being held in October this year. Good luck and well done to all of you.
Martinborough Community Guy Fawkes 2015: The Martinborough Community Guy Fawkes will be held on Saturday, 7 November (pp day Sunday, 8 November) at Considine Park, Princess Street, Martinborough with all proceeds going towards the purchase of our new 11-aside team shirts for next season. Gates open at 5.30pm (gold coin entry) with bbq food/drinks and glow sticks available for purchase. ALL WELCOME. If you have any garden rubbish which you would like to contribute to the bonfire, please deposit at Considine Park where indicated. NO BUILDING MATERIALS OR NAILS PLEASE – the Park is used by the Pony Club during the year.
Funding: Thank you to the Sports NZ Rural Travel Fund for the $540 we recently received towards travel costs for the season. This has been distributed to families in the form of petrol vouchers.
