Martinborough Junior Soccer Club

June 14, 2016 June 2016, Sports No Comments

It’s been a great start to the season for Martinborough Junior Soccer. This year we have nine teams competing in the Wairarapa competition, from 5th/6th grade up to 12th grade. Our players come from Martinborough School, Kahutara School, Hadlow School, MIS and Greytown School.

Last weekend we hosted the junior soccer festival for 5th-8th grade teams, where all teams in those grades played in Martinborough, and the club put on a fundraising BBQ and bake sale, raising over $300 for the club towards new uniforms and equipment.

Although soccer is a smaller sport in Wairarapa than in the bigger centres, we are very lucky to have the support of an amazing set of parents who volunteer to coach and manage our teams, as well as the fabulous support and resources of Capital Football who help run our competition and support our coaches and administrators.

Thanks to all our wonderful players, who have such a great attitude and get out there every Saturday and do Martinborough proud.
