MARTINBOROUGH RSA
Anzac Day 2017. Anzac Day (Tuesday 25 April) will soon be upon us, and so here are some key details:
• Poppy Day. Poppy Day 2017 will be held on Friday 21 April, with poppies being available in Jellicoe Street outside Pain & Kershaws and in Kitchener Street beside Kitchener Street Dairy. Please give generously as these donations are used to support veterans and stay within the Martinborough area.
• Martinborough Dawn Service. This service will commence at 5.55am on ANZAC morning the 25th April. The marshalling point for the parade is outside Pain & Kershaws in Jellicoe Street at 5.45am. The parade will be led by the Wairarapa Fern and Thistle Pipe Band and will march to the Cenotaph at 5.55am.
Martinborough Community Board members will be handing out service sheets before the service, but please bring a torch so that you will be able to read these.
After the service the parade will then march around the Square to the Martinborough Fire Station. The Brigade have kindly offered the Fire Station for the morning tea after the service. We look forward to everyone enjoying a time of fellowship at the station.
