August has been busy with some fun entertainment taking place. The school reading group which comes fortnightly creates such a good atmosphere and both parties gain an enormous amount from the interaction.
The Auxiliary invited Mary Clark to sing which was wonderful and we look forward to a return visit. August also sees the annual fund-raising Bridge luncheon at Brackenridge.
Last month’s fundraising concert was a huge success raising over $4,000 towards the purchase and set up costs of our new wheelchair van. Thanks to the board and Suzanne Warner for all their efforts.
Naomi Alloway brought in some lambs which brought a smile to everyone’s faces.
The Featherston ukulele group was great and everyone joined in and sang along. A visit to Arbor House for afternoon tea and a sing along took everyone’s minds off the rain outside.
We said a sad goodbye to Betty Mellish who passed away and will be missed by residents and staff.
Cliff is re-planting his garden so spring feels close by.
If anyone has any spare plastic shopping bags we would welcome them to save having to purchase more for our rubbish bins.
We are now looking forward to spring and all the outside opportunities this new season will bring.
