STARS IN MARTINBOROUGH

They are seeing stars at Alexander Vineyard in Martinborough and not just because of the Wairarapa’s famed night skies.

In his latest Buyer’s Guide to New Zealand Wines 2021, renowned wine critic Michael Cooper has given 5 stars (Gold Medal standard) to the four latest releases from Alexander Vineyard. 

The wines are their Alexander Pinot Noir 2018, Alexander Raumati Pinot Noir Rose 2020, the Alexander Merlot 2019 (noted as “outstanding”) and the Dusty Road Pinot Noir 2019 which was also shortlisted for Cooper’s much sought after “Best Red Wine Buy of The Year” award which the winery won last year for their 2018 Dusty Road.

Owner/winemakers Michael Finucane and Roz Walker are delighted with the 5 star ratings, which follow many other similar awards, because it shows that they are producing high-quality wine year after year.  The latest wines are available from the winery or through a select number of wine retailers in Martinborough and Wellington.
