About Martinborough Lions Club:

December 16, 2014 December 2014 No Comments

Our Lions Club is a relaxed friendly club and our membership consists of men and women who wish to serve their community and enjoy fellowship. As a group with the common goal “We Serve” we can achieve significantly more for our communities than as individuals. The International Lions Organisation provides the structure and ethics our clubs operate under.
The Martinborough Club has two dinner meetings, the second Wednesday of the month a guest speaker evening and the forth Wednesday a business meeting, both are sociable and informal.

Some of the activities the club is involved in; street appeals for Cancer Society and Life Flight Trust ,assisted with traffic control and parking at the Tora Challenge, organised the “Meet the Candidates” for the General Election, assisted with the bar at Madcaps, bar and setup for Jazz in Martinborough. The Club held the Skyline Challenge, proceeds to Wharekaka, Toast Martinborough gate security, signage and control Centre. We also provide firewood free to elderly and put on a Christmas luncheon for elderly singles.

The club also provides funding to various groups, individuals and charities treated on a case by case basis on request or by application.

The Club has an open door to new members who are welcome to firstly to come as a guest prior to committing to membership. If you are thinking of joining our relaxed and friendly environment enjoy the fellowship and serve your community please give Jaque Read 3069639 a ring.
