All the fun of the fair

June 12, 2014 June 2014 No Comments

All-the-fun-of-the-fairOn Saturday 28 June, Martinborough’s unique Square will be all dressed for a Night Market, and you are all invited from 4-8pm. Everyone is welcome, and it’s free.
“The Night Market is the big community event for the Martinborough Olive Harvest Festival, and was very popular last year,” said Martinborough Business Association Chairman Frank Cornelissen.

An Association initiative, with local olive growers, the aim is to create a mid-winter boost. Local musicians, including the Community Choir, will entertain.
“There will be many more food options, by popular request, to complement the 70+ stalls. We expect visitors will graze and shop at the market and then pop in to a local cafe or bar to finish the evening.

“Last year, 60% of festivalgoers came from outside the Wairarapa, benefitting accommodation providers, restaurants, retailers and olive growers.
“We encourage locals and weekenders to invite their friends for the weekend, for the two-day festival. Activity details and tickets are on www.martinborougholivefestival.co.nz,” he said.
