Apologies

We apologise to the number of people who sent in photographs for the October issue but which were not published. We had more than usual number of news items, which is always good, and had to remove some photos to fit these in.

Even with removing photos there was still not enough space for all the copy received . It was just not possible to fit in the later arriving items for the October issue. Which is a reminder that the deadline is not a target by which items will be guaranteed inclusion.  The deadline is simply the time from which we can not accept further copy.  To ensure your copy is printed get it in well on time

The Great Successor 

Having two very interesting books on hand at once is a real bonus.

 Anna  Fifield’s ‘The Great Successor – the secret rise and rule of Kim Jong Un’ had arrived first so I decided to read it before ‘Searching for Rewi Alley’. 

Anna Fifield has extensive Asian experience, she currently works out of Beijing as the Bureau Chief for the Washington Post and previously was the Bureau Chief for the  Financial Times working from Seoul.  She has visited Pyongyang six times and is the recipient of the Shorenstein Journalism Award for outstanding reporting on Asia which all makes her well placed to write this book. … Continue Reading
