Civil Defence update

Thank you to Martinborough’s newest Civil Defence trained community members Sarah Percy and Mark Johnson. If you are keen to ensure your personal, family and neighbourhood preparedness, share the preparedness message, be able to assist during and after an emergency supporting people, gathering information, and assisting at Civil Defence and Welfare Centre – we would love to hear from you.
Register at:www.getprepared.co.nz/CDEM-volunteer and come along to our 2 interactive sessions March 8th & 15th 9:30am – 4pm Frank Cody Lounge , Masterton District Council.
Karen Stevens and the Community Response team are nearing the completion of the Martinborouigh Community Response Plan if you are keen to view the draft or make a contribution at the final meeting looking at what you love about Martinborough and what post a major event in Martinborough you would be keen to maintain.

It’s Easy Household, Neighbours and Business booklets are available from the council or library or pop along to the either of the Martinborough Fairs and visit our stall for more information.

Have you got emergency water sorted? If not we suggest the 200Lt water tank from the Council for $105 for an easy to install and long term economical way to be prepared.

Individual and 4 person Grab and Go Bags can be purchased from Mitre 10 or you can make one of your own with these key items and room for your personal documents, medication a pair of shoes and a jacket.
