1ST MARTINBOROUGH YOUTH FORUM EVENT

Adi McMaster has provided the following update from the Youth Forum, if you would like to be part of this group then please contact Adi on 06 3069 064.

The youth have been planning this for a couple of weeks, they wanted to hold it in the holidays, (gave youth something to do). It was at the First Church hall, it is a lovely little hall, lots of cosy atmosphere. They only charged $20 for power and boy did we need the heaters on that night! We met at 3.45 to decorate the hall in a frozen, scary theme relating to movie topics. Made popcorn, everyone started arriving at 4.30 with their beanbags, mattresses, rugs.

At halftime I raced out to the Martinborough Hotel and Jerry very kindly had made pizzas for us at half price $10 to support us, this was really appreciated. The Community Board provided financial support for the pizza’s and will continue to assist with funding the food at our future meetings.

I made litres of lemonade cordial, a friend kindly donated the lemons, that I picked off their tree. We had about 12 young people that night and we would like to do these, or something along these lines, every holidays maybe a couple in the winter, and outside in the summer.

Fantastic help from Spencer and Hazel Jamison, Beatrice Pearce was sadly missed after making a fabulous poster, Matt Shackleton and Jenner our Youth co-ordinator of course!!

If you would like to contact us we are on Facebook: Martinborough Community Board and our website www.swdc.govt.nz/MCB.
