Conor joins business group

September 8, 2014 September 2014 No Comments

Local business think-tank, the Wairarapa Development Group (WDG), has broadened its knowledgebase with the addition of three new members – John Booth, Carterton’s Deputy Mayor, Conor Kershaw of Martinborough’s Pain & Kershaw Ltd and Allan Pollard, CEO of Trust House Ltd. The new members bring with them sound business experience and take the Group’s number up to 14. Shane McManaway, WDG Chairman, says he is delighted the Group is growing and welcomes these experienced pairs of hands on board.
“The WDG is all about working for the greater good of the Wairarapa,” he explains. “As a group, we get our heads together on a regular basis and look at how we can use our networks and draw on our business skills to help maximise commercial opportunities in the region.

“We’ve helped some significant initiatives so far, including Wings Over Wairarapa, Kokomai, the Wairarapa Arts Festival, and Heartland Wairarapa. We also frequently work under the radar with local businesses, many of whom just need a sounding board or some strategic support.”

The WDG is self-funded and independent. It comprises Alastair Scott, Allan Pollard, Anders Crofoot, Bob Francis, Conor Kershaw, David Borman, Donovan Wearing, Geoff Copps, John Booth, Nick Rogers, Peter Munn, Robin Dunlop, Shane McManaway and Wendy Morrison.
