Fundraising Cookbook for Wharekaka Hospital Level Care

November 18, 2016 November 2016 No Comments

fundraising-cookbook Wharekaka Auxiliary members’ kitchens have been working overtime the last few months testing recipes for their new cookbook. This is the Auxiiliary’s biggest fundraiser for 23 years and sales of the book will raise money for hospital level care at Wharekaka, allowing residents to remain in the community that has been their home. Additionally, Wharekaka will also be offering palliative care as needed to non-residents. Both these care options will be a huge asset to the Martinborough area.

Response to the cookbook so far has been overwhelmingly positive with local businesses supporting the project with advertising and sponsorship. Individuals have also helped out with very generous donations and the combination of advertising and donations has covered all of the production costs. As a result, 100% of money from sales will be given directly to Wharekaka.

People who have seen advance copies of the book have been impressed with the wonderful recipes and beautiful photos. All production and printing was done locally and all recipes donated by Martinborough and South Wairarapa locals. The book, titled ‘Tastes from Martinborough’, is a great showcase for the depth of talent in our region.

Tastes from Martinborough is on sale now at various businesses around Martinborough. Any enquiries can be sent to wharekaka1@gmail.com.
