Hello from Martinborough Plunket

August 11, 2014 August 2014 No Comments

This year our annual garage sale was on a Sunday and were very pleased with the turnout, lots of bargains snapped up. Although there seemed a lot of children’s clothes and items left over we were glad to be able to donate what wasn’t sold to a Wairarapa group called Little Bundles, who make up bundles of warm good quality items to give away for new mums.

We had at least 6 bouncenettes that didn’t sell, if you’d like one pop into our Plunket rooms and pick one up.

We do really appreciate the help from all our lovely volunteers who turn up on the day, and help out behind the scenes with setting up and tidying up. South Wairarapa Storage support us by letting us store the loads of treasures at no cost, and REVIVE Coffee come along and sell their fab coffee and donate ALL the proceeds on the day, so a BIG thank you to all of you who helped us that weekend, we are very grateful.

The last fortnight our house loved furry family member Pippin,  the extra wee shadow that has accompanied my 7 yr old his whole life. Pets can be great for kids to grow up around as it teaches them skills to help with being gentle and caring.

ALWAYS ask your vet for advice if you have a new baby coming in the family and have a dog and would like advice to help with a smooth transition.

We’d love to see more of our local babies at our Monday morning Plunket coffee group at the Plunket rooms on Venice Street, so check out our Wairarapa Plunket Facebook page and local P & K notice board for info on our fortnightly meetings.
