Southern Stars in action against Hadlow.

Southern Stars in action against Hadlow.

Wow what a month for Netball Southern in June. Thank you to E10 for allowing us to assist with the annual Duck Shooters Dinner as a fundraiser. The club also held a successful sausage sizzle at the Kuranui courts and have another one coming up. Thank you to all the parents and club supporters who volunteered time to assist with this and our rostered duties at the courts.

The teams have all been put in their grades for the competition with the Swans in their first year playing (Grade 7) and Stars (Grade 5A) have got off to a winning start showing fabulous teamwork and sportsmanship. The Steel have debuted in Grade One and though they are finding the competition tough, are showing improvement every week as are the Sting in Grade 5.

A big thank you to our umpires Janine Legg (Steel and Sting), Kim Whiteman (Swans) and Maralyse Whiteman who at just 10 has stepped up to umpire in Grade 5A and received a lot of fabulous feedback from the opposition last week. Also to Tiny who has answered our call for help a couple of times.
We now head into the holidays before hitting the business end of the season, with a mid September end predicted.
