Hi – Kia ora,
Politics is all the rage at the moment – we have all of Nicky Hager’s books, a book on Kim Dotcom plus almost anything you can think of in the political line.  Not that we endorse any of them, as librarians we are, of course, neutral on anything contentious!
The least contentious items we have are probably the magazines and lately we have had some lovely donations – thanks very much.  You can now find The English Garden, The National Business Review, Listener plus many others.

Still on contention, if you are wanting some free legal advice pop in and see us – well not the librarians but the Law Society Representative who is in the library once a month for 2 hours.  The next session is on the 23rd September.
Now for the children – Our pre-school session on Tuesday morning is as popular as ever.  We usually have about 18 little ones each week and Janet is thinking about changing the name from Book Babies to Squishy Sardines – for obvious reasons!  That leads nicely on to our announcement about the new additional Book Babies sessions which will be starting on Thursday 4th September.

9.30 to 10                English/Te Reo Book Babies

10 to 10.30              Te Reo Book Babies

Everyone welcome whether or not you know any Te Reo – this is a great opportunity to learn and extend your child’s and your own vocabulary and knowledge base.  The sessions will also be great fun.  Our thanks to the JR McKenzie Trust who are providing the funds to run these – Whakawhetai ki a koutou.
For all those parents who are sick of vacuuming up loom bands, send the children to the library on a Wednesday afternoon for our looming club.  Bring your own loom and bands or use ours.  We usually have about 15 to 20 children scattered in little groups around the library all working harmoniously and quietly together.
We also have some looming books to take out as well.  If you are not into looming but into Minecraft – another bane of parents’ lives – then do check out all our great Minecrafting books.  Ponies are back in fashion and we have refreshed our collection with some new ones.
 Come in and see us.
