Strengthening our community by supporting our youth

Inspire your teens and send them to Discovery, a 7-day intensive self-improvement course. MYT promotes Discovery enrolling Martinborough teens from all backgrounds.
Enrolments are open for 2015 July course in Auckland held the 2nd week of the school holiday.

Pat Church, Sue Sullivan and Terry Blacktop run the Martinborough Youth Trust which has supported 61 teens in completing the course since 2006. MYT provides tuition support and assistance with travel expenses if needed. For more information visit their website www.discoveryforteens and click on 4-minute YouTube clip to meet a Discovery facilitator – Meredith Tourell. She is impressive!

Here are excerpts from letters MYT has received from graduates:

30 December 2011
To Pat, Sue and the Discovery Sponsors,
Without the help of the fundraisers and organizers I wouldn’t have returned to Discovery a second time. …
I can say at the least it is life changing. I don’t encourage people to go on Discovery, I say “Just do it”.
Thank you so much,
Thalia Campbell

30 May 2011
Hello my name is Zoey Sinclair, I completed discovery April 2011. …Discovery has turned my life around, I’m so much more positive …, especially at school.
My relationship with my parents is stronger which is awesome. We are a lot happier and get along better. Discovery is the best thing I have ever done for myself and I would defiantly encourage other teens to do the course and give it everything they got. …I learned to believe in myself and wipe away the negative dialog … I also learned to support others to complete their goals and praise them when they are achieved, and to give life 100%. … Discovery has given me the opportunity to be a stronger, healthier and happier young woman. …Deep down in my heart no thank you will really be enough for what you have given me.
Thank You
Yours Sincerely,
Zoey Sinclair

The MYT is very thankful for the financial support from many individuals, businesses and clubs. We could of not have done it without you – the community!
Recently the Lions contacted us about their Skyline Cycle Challenge held on ANZAC weekend April 26, 2015. If you are interested please visit www.skylinechallenge@xtra.co.nz.
We were advised that the money they raise is earmarked for MYT. All money raised will be used exclusively to send Martinborough teens to Discovery.
