RED CROSS SPRING FLING

October 15, 2020 October 2020 No Comments

With so many events cancelled this year due to that ‘unmentionable’ virus, the Martinborough Red Cross Group ran their annual Spring Fling on Saturday 19th September.

“The Spring Fling was an afternoon of Housie, Conversation and Fun for local senior citizens. We sent invitations to over 100 people and had a great turnout of over thirty people at the event which included our Branch President Julie Bradbury and Wairarapa Administrator Gemma Williams and her family” said Mike Armour and Marg Hanlon, local Red Cross coordinators.

Our local Red Cross group provided afternoon tea and  hosted the event, and Val Johns was fantastic as our resident Housie expert.  “We are very fortunate in Martinborough to have such a committed and supportive group” said Mike and Marg.

Apart from our bi-monthly meetings, a Good and Ready event will be held  later this year.  “This will be a great opportunity for the whole of the South Wairarapa to be involved, thinking about how we can be ready to Connect, Care and Prepare in the case of a future disaster” said Mike & Marg.

To find out more about the Red Cross, or if you would like to join our group, call one or our local coordinators Mike on 027 939 7373 or Marg on 027 277 6393.  Or you could email them at mrameh192@gmail.com.
