Gareth Rapson, who with his wife Gail learnt to play bridge a couple of years ago, says “The games we play find us in a variety of ways. Close friends who had come over the hill to the Wairarapa at the same time offered to teach us how to play bridge. Gail and I found we liked the game, lots of wine and great meals helped and the next step was signing up for real lessons.

We signed up for a series of tutorials with the South Wairarapa Bridge Club. Our Teacher was Trevor McKeown, a leading player in the valley, who provided a well-structured program. We were now classified as novice players and the next step was club play on a Monday night.

In a kind and caring way we were integrated into the world of duplicate bridge. Every step of the way has been fun. We have made many new friends and the game is endlessly challenging. So if you are ready to learn one of the worlds great games read on.”

The South Wairarapa Bridge Club is a friendly club that caters for players of all skill levels. We meet in the Greytown Town Centre on Monday and Thursday evenings at 6.00 pm

Beginners Bridge Lessons begin on the July 25th Lessons run for 10 weeks finishing 26th September The lessons start at 7.00 and finish round about 8.45. A fee of $40.00 (pays for lessons and club membership for 2017). Refresher lessons are also being provided so if you know a little and want to know more please enquire.
