We have a giant jellyfish in the library!
Leftover from the Summer Reading Programme is our jellyfish hanging from the ceiling in the children’s area. The theme was the seaside and Janet, our very creative librarian, set up an appropriate scene in the garden area where children could register and check in (see photo).
Things were manic over the holiday period with really busy January and February. The Summer Holiday Reading Programme finished at with a huge disco at the Featherston ANZAC Hall. 85 Martinborough children finished the Programme so that is why it was so quiet around town – all the reading going on!
A big thank you must go to the Eastern Central Community Trust for funding the Reading Programme again this year. Without their support we would not be able to run such a great experience for the children.
We had several great entertainers as part of the programme and a thank you must also go to Liz Stevens for sponsoring the puppeteer performance and craft session. Our next reading programme is in the winter school holiday.
