Firstly on behalf of us all at JAB a big shout out to Josh Hawkins, James Bruce , Rob Marshall, Dusty & Lulu and team. We all enjoyed the magnificent show at the Bull Riding event the kids are still buzzing about it.

This season has started with great enthusiasm. It’s great to see the number of young children of our senior players coming through the ranks! We have been very fortunate to have Dave Kingi our Wellington Rugby Development Co-ordinator giving a helping hand to our coaches’. Dave has worked with the Hurricanes, Under 21, and Secondary Schools. We thank him very much.

We have just held our registration day for all our young players with a huge super slide and obstacle course that proved very popular. The day started with having free Milo breakfast cereal sponsored from Nestle Milo and sausage sizzle for lunch.

The senior players were there in force teaching our kids great skills on the field with a game of touch and coach team talk to finish off which they thoroughly enjoyed.

This year our U6’s are under the great leadership of Daniel George and Scotty Madden who both have strong ties to our club.

Our U9 team is with Daniel Hawkins taking the reins with Mark Clarkson.

Our U10’s team who took out the competition last year is being coached by Mike Edney.

U11 team is still holding an undefeated title are combining with Tuhurangi for the full field this year under the guidance of David Hume.

The Under13’s team Shane Wilkinson and Sarel.

We welcome Rob and Kiely Marshall to the Presidency role. Matt and Lia Wood created our new website and taken the treasury role. Tracey Tayles is taking on bar manager role with Kat helping out behind the scenes. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank Craig Colton our club delegate for a tremendous job along with Rachel.

If you have not been and had a look at our new website yet please do at www.Martinboroughrugbyclub.co.nz you will find all club information draws venues etc. It’s our new face and way of communication.

We would also like to farewell Matt and Mel O’neale who have moved on to Rotorua, we want to say a great thanks to all they have done for our club they leave a massive hole and both are dearly missed.

It takes a lot to run a club and we are in desperate need of assistance at home games in the kitchen to help make a few sandwiches or maybe cook a sausage If you are able to lend a hand please contact Rob Marshall 0272983928 or Nicholle Hawkins 3068460.
