WHAT’S HAPPENED TO OUR ROSE & FLOWER SHOW??

November 18, 2016 November 2016 No Comments

With November upon us, the end of the year is approaching, and gardeners from our village and beyond have been wondering what’s happening about the Rose Show.
Unfortunately this famous event has to be CANCELLED for 2016. Our Town Hall is by far the best and most suitable venue; and of course ‘she’ – like a grand old ship – is undergoing a refit right now. The Committee thought long and hard about sorting an alternative: all of which posed varying levels of logistic nightmares. As a result, rather reluctantly, the decision had to be made.
But don’t worry … we’ll be back with the show in 2017. In the meantime, we have some schemes germinating and if, or more likely when, something flowers, there will ‘blooms for you to pick’ [possibly, but not necessarily, metaphorically speaking, of course].

These will be of interest to you loyal supporters of our iconic Rose Show, which is after all, nearly as old as the Town Hall! We are currently waiting to see what comes up from those ‘scheme seeds’. WATCH OUT FOR ACTION in the early months of next year.
We hope your curiosity is suitably germinated now and growing along with our ideas!! If so, please keep reading future issues of the [also famous] MARTINBOROUGH STAR, and logging on to our facebook; www.facebook.com/MartinboroughRoseFlowerShow/ . This will also have postings of general interest and information, and lots of colour pix!!
