Southern Netball
The netball season is shaping up to be an exciting one. All three of the Southern teams have improved dramatically throughout the season and it is impressive to watch. This is down to the hard work from the girls, the coaches/ managers and families that support every training and Saturday game. If anyone is interested in umpiring or coaching a younger team, please let Sarah Gadsby know through Martinborough School, 306 9602.
We are fortunate enough to have all of our games play on Saturday mornings at Kuranui College. The Southern Steel (Year 6-8) play at 9am, Southern Stars (Year 5&6) play at 10am and Southern Swans (Year 3&4) play at 11am. Please come and show your support to our budding future netballers.
The Year 1 and 2’s are finishing up their round in Featherston on Tuesdays. A massive shout out to Netball Wairarapa and in particular, Sandy Biel for organising this for our youngest players. The five and six year olds have gained skills in fair play, teamwork, throwing, passing, catching and having fun on the court. A thank you to all the parents and helpers(Shakia and Kala Baird) from Southern Steel that committed time from their busy schedule to support these little ones!
A huge thank you again, to the Pukemanu and E10 restaurant who have sponsored us through the Annual Duck Shooter’s dinner, we cannot continue as a club without the generous support of our community!
