A Night with MADCAPS

May 10, 2021 May 2021 No Comments

It’s hard to believe it has been getting on 2 years since the last MADCAPS production ‘Welcome Home’ was staged at the newly refurbished Martinborough Town Hall. There was discussion amongst the MADCAPS faithful, due to the success of the 2019 show that a 2020 show might be possible but then the Covid-19 pandemic hit putting a hold on any large gatherings.

Now it’s 2021 and Covid-19 still hangs over us but with an improved outlook, MADCAPS has decided to put on a two-night show in August called ‘A Night with MADCAPS’. This will be a review style show in keeping with performances of the past decade, with an eye on keeping it minimal to avoid any large cost outlays with the threat of a Covid-19 cancellation still possible.

The sound and lighting can be sourced from MADCAPS members as well as the use of the community sound gear provided by Jazz Martinborough. This will provide a major cost saving over past performances ensuring a risk-free show with the same MADCAPS talent and laughter we have all come to expect.

Prior to ‘A Night with MADCAPS’ we are going to hold a couple of club nights at the Martinborough Bowling Club to get the MADCAPS community together, share some laughter and song, as well as start to craft the upcoming show. The dates for the club nights are tentatively set for 15 th of May and 3 rd of July. These will be advertised on the MADCAPS Facebook page once confirmed or if there is any change.

‘A Night with MADCAPS’ is scheduled for Friday 20th and Saturday 21st of August at the Martinborough Town Hall. We look forward to seeing you all in August.
