An active toy library

October 15, 2020 October 2020 No Comments

Where has this year gone? Can you believe we are already in October and Christmas is now less than 3 months away! Thankfully we have moved back to level 1 so we asked everyone to practice good hand hygiene and adhere to the social distancing requirements.

There will be a Community Market fundraiser this month over Labour Day weekend at the Martinborough Town Hall. We aim to have a stall over the weekend to sell some of our much loved toys to make room for some new ones. Our stall will operate on the Saturday and Sunday October 24th & 25th 10am-5pm. For more information on the Market, see www.facebook.com/martinboroughcommunitymarket or call 021 611 035.

There is movement underway at the Waihinga Centre with the new Banking Hub set to open before the end of the year. Our volunteers have been busy moving some of our larger toys out of the storage area behind the library to make make room for the new hub.

Thanks to our newest team member, Anne-Marie Sharp who has kindly volunteered her valuable weekend time to help with the Saturday Toy Library sessions. Without volunteers we would not be able to run. If you are interested in helping out, please email us at martytoylibrary@gmail.com. We were also lucky enough last month to receive a donation from a local family who chose to collect donations for the Toy Library instead of birthday gifts. Thank you!
