Cross Creek Blues Club

March 10, 2014 March 2014 No Comments

No need to go to Wellington. Cross Creek Blues Club and the Tin Hut have had their very own International Festival of the Arts in February and March with Australian, Nick Charles who held the audience spellbound with his striking guitar styling and mastery of the country blues in all its shapes and forms. http://www.charlesguitar.com

In March, direct from Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina, USA – Ruth Wyand, who featured songs from her new CD “Mama’s Got The Blues”. www.ruthwyand.com “… powerful voice and the ability to mix jazz runs with primal delta slide guitar” Juke Joint Notes; “…what sets her apart is her deft manipulation of the slide guitar” Philadelphia Music Forum.

As always, these international artists were supported by fine local musicians including: Bob Cooper-Grundy, Kate Marshall Pat McKenna, Mike Dew with Road Noise; Johnny Gray, Ken Stokes, GRAFIA , Stefan Kingsford Brown, the Honky Tonk Heroes with Linda Sorensen; Kevin McLoughlin, Wayne Manson and KB’s Roosters! It was superb entertainment and you will be able to hear more of these local musicians and others at an April club night showcasing Wairarapa’s best blues musicians.

Cross Creek Blues Club at the Tin Hut on Wednesday 2nd April 2014 from 7:15. (Dinner from 5pm). All welcome. http://crosscreekblues.org
