Digital Seniors Pilot a Success

December 9, 2019 December 2019 No Comments

Digital Seniors has just finished a successful 6 month pilot in the Wairarapa. We have helped 1015 seniors, spent 1081 hours with seniors, resolved 720 technology concerns and covered 1399 learning topics. We would like to thank the Digital Seniors coaches who have provided hours of their support to seniors for free.

Most seniors haven’t had the opportunity to learn about digital technology at work or at school. Technology is changing all aspects of society yet many seniors cannot fully participate in its social, wellness and economic benefits. This digital divide for seniors is ever increasing as technology advances.

Digital Seniors provides a  free one on one coaching service where seniors can come with their specific technology issues.  We also have an 0800 number for seniors who would like a home visit or help over the phone. We ensure senior’s experience with us is positive, engaging and rewarding. We are cheerful and empathetic and try to replace senior’s frustration with technology with self-confidence and enjoyment.

Many seniors are telling us we have changed their lives. Our seniors have learned to connect with family and friends via Skype, share photos, play online games, stream music on Spotify,  use Pinterest, Youtube, Facebook, Netflix, send texts, virtual reality the list goes on! These are brilliant ways for seniors to be digitally engaged and stay connected with the world around them.

We welcome anyone over 65 to call our phone service or drop into see us.   No question is too small, we are here to help!  Feel free to call with any questions or if you would like a home visit  0800 373 646. Our services are always free.

Our meeting location is: Thursdays At St Andrews Church 9:30 – 11:30
