FIRE BRIGADE REPORT

February 9, 2021 February 2021 No Comments

Well a New Year is with us, and hopefully this year will bring a resumption of some of the more normal activities.

We welcome Aaron Huddleston to our recruit pool, I think by the smiles he is already enjoying himself and is already contributing on calls.

Late last year we hosted our Brigade Honours Night to acknowledge the contribution made by our members to the community, and especially  their families when they are dragged away, and to take time to formally present Certificates, Medals and Bars for their years of service to date. It was great to see our Life Members present, a huge shout out to the Duty Crew who still found time to go down to the fireworks display.

The Brigade has been busier lately responding to multiple calls from our community, mainly Motor Vehicle Accidents and  Medical calls in the last few weeks, and you will no doubt have noted the number of times our siren has sounded. We are always happy to respond to any emergency and all our firefighters have received specialist Medical Training. We have some very exciting news to share with you all very shortly so keep an eye out for that major announcement.

We scaled down our usual training over holiday break but are back into it, we are at the Station Tuesday Nights at 7pm if you want to pop in and see what it’s all about.  We have moved to a RESTRICTED FIRE SEASON ( a permit is required – for information www.checkitsalright.nz)

If you see smoke or fire or need our help – CALL 111 IMMEDIATELY – remember we never close and are available anytime day or night
