We are almost at the  weekend of  the shortest day and Martinborough looks like it will be the place to be with all sorts of exciting events happening in and around our town. The annual Martinborough Mid-Winter Monster Book Fair will begin on Friday evening with our very own resident author, Alice Arndell, of “Alice in Bakingland” as this year’s guest speaker, and concludes at 2.00pm on Sunday afternoon. This year  there will also be a silent auction providing added  interest to many people.

We are indeed very lucky to have  many talented people living in our midst who are so generous at giving their time to support our local fundraisers. Thanks also to the ongoing  support of the many  community organisations which continue to help in so many ways with this increasingly popular event. Namely the BNZ, P&K, The Library, Martinborough Transport, Martinborough Rugby Club, Pirinoa Store, and The Martinborough Star.

Grateful thanks also to all of the individuals who give their time to come along and help sort the books on Tuesday afternoons and assist with the Fair.
With thousands of books going out the door at bargain prices, we look forward to seeing more people than ever at the Town Hall over the weekend of June 19th 20th and 21st. Funds raised this year will go toward the ongoing maintenance costs of First Church Martinborough.
