It’s Round the Vines time again
Time to remind our readers that Sunday 16th is Around the Vines day again . While there’s obviously little need to once again go over the details of the event for you, we could suggest that you think about using the fun to invite friends or relatives to come and enjoy the day with you. Or even make a weekend of it. There is plenty of excellent accommodation available if required.
Tell them of the once a year opportunity to walk through some of Martinborough’s best known vineyards: Alana Estate, Ata Rangi, Martinborough Vineyard and Palliser Estate.
Explain that there is a course to suit everyone, from the gentle 10 km walk to the more challenging 20km walk. Or for the those fitness fiends, the 10km and 20km runs.
Remember to mention the fun of dressing up, or for the more conservative, the laughs provided by those who do. Also the refreshment stations around the course where a stop can be made to enjoy the cool water, wine, water melon and grapes on offer.
There’s always the chance of winning one of the dozens of valuable spot prizes. The big one this year being two nights accommodation for two in a secluded Pepper’s Parehua cottage, with a bottle of Martinborough Bubbly and chocolates on arrival. The accommodation includes cooked breakfasts each morning and a seven course degustation dining experience.
For those requiring it Transit Coachlines is providing transport from Wellington and the Hutt Valley. To book phone 0800 471 227. For further Round the Vines information on the event:WWW.roundthevines.org.nz
