For some time local schools have been taking part in the Regional Council’s replanting of our water side domains. Now the Council is inviting everybody to take part in this very worthwhile scheme. All that is required is a bit of your time, sturdy footwear , clothes appropriate to the weather and a spade.

Planting is planned for four areas, you are invited to take part in one, or more, that are convenient. The Council will be providing the flaxes and shrubs appropriate to each area. They will also provide a nice hot cuppa along with a barbecue at each site except the smaller planting at the Lake Domain where it will be a cuppa and snack.

So the where and when:
Friday 4th July at the Ducks Unlimited site on Parera Road commencing at 10 am.
On Saturday 7th July venue will be The Wairarapa Lake Domain, down Murphy’s Line off the Martinborough to Featherston road commencing at 9.30 am.
Sunday 13th July the planting will be the shore opposite the Lake Ferry Hotel commencing at 9.30 am.
Saturday 6th July will be in the Whangaimoana Dunes at the end of the Whangaimoana Beach Road off the Cape Palliser road. Start time 10 am.

Here’s your chance to take part in the project to both improve our environment and make our district even more attractive. Don’t turn down this opportunity.
