KURANUI COLLEGE – SENIOR DRAMA TRIP TO THE UK

June 12, 2014 June 2014 No Comments

The Year 12 and 13 Drama students are planning a two week trip to the UK in late September this year (during the school holidays) to experience Shakespearean Theatre (as well as other genres) in the location they come from.

Some of the areas the students plan to visit are:
The sights of London including the Globe Theatre (where Shakespearean Theatre is performed), the Tower of London, Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, the National Theatre, Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, St Pauls Cathedral, the Olympic Parks and Baker Street (Sherlock Holmes).
The famous stones of Stonehenge.
The town of Stratford Upon Avon (William Shakespeare’s birthplace) and the home of the Royal Shakespeare Theatre.
The University of Glasgow in Scotland, spending the day in the Drama Department with ex-Kuranui Drama student Julia Dalgren.
A French Perfumery, the Eiffel Tower and the Moulin Rouge in Paris, France.

This is going to be a wonderful experience for the students to study and essentially live and breath the theatrical world for two weeks and will gain valuable insight for their examinations.

To get to the UK, we have a lot of things to do, and a lot of money to raise… so look out for our fundraising efforts around the Wairarapa and by local Martinborough Kuranui students, Sarah & Kate Philip, Dylan James and Murphy Cater.

Donations towards the trip can also be made by contacting Juanita McLellan at Kuranui College or email juanamac@gmail.com
