Local Chefs to provide a Fiesta of Flavour at Wine Auction

October 14, 2013 October 2013 No Comments

Wine-Auction-piece
With less than a month to go before Hospice Wairarapa’s charity wine auction and fiesta of flavour kicks off on October 19, organising is in full swing and it promises to be a night for the senses. The rich exuberance and colour of the decorating theme will delight and tempt the eye, and for the ears there will be the sounds of fun and laughter as well as the fall of the auctioneer’s gavel bringing delight to successful bidders.

The aromas of a riotous combination of food featuring a range of world cuisines will draw guests to the table and then back for more. Tasting exquisite fare enhanced by Wairarapa wines can only result in repeated return visits to sample yet more.

Eight top local chefs are generously giving their time and skill for the occasion, and are excited at the culinary opportunities a Fiesta of Flavour offers them. Each of our guest chefs will create innovative and highly individual dishes from a selected cuisine. Mexican, Moroccan, Asian, Cajun, Indian and Mediterranean food station delights will be represented, along with Kiwi-style spit roasted spring lamb and, of course, toothsome desserts.

It’s a tasting menu full of flavour, to which you can return time and again, grazing as you wish on those dishes that most take your fancy and excite your tastebuds. Magnificent local wines to match each food offering, including the regional blends created exclusively for Hospice Wairarapa, add the final touch of pure pleasure.

The evening has something for all price brackets. Guests can simply attend and enjoy the food and wine throughout the evening. Colourful mystery bags for $50 to $150 and a Silent Auction offer an extraordinary range of fantastic and affordable items. The main auction contains some mouth-watering offerings, with a wine and travel package to California’s Napa Valley as the top auction item. Other travel packages, jewellery and of course top label and rarely available wines will also be included in the auction.

More details, and tickets at $175pp, are available at www.hospicewairarapa.co.nz . The venue is Brackenridge Country Estate, Martinborough.
