Local body elections are now behind us and the South Wairarapa has a largely unchanged council team to navigate the next three years.  This I think recognises the integrity and hard work of the councillors you have elected.

We do welcome two new members, Councillor Colin Olds from Featherston and Councillor David Montgomerie from Greytown.  It is always good to have fresh ideas and new enthusiasm in any organisation which I’m sure we’ll see from our newest members.  They do however have big shoes to fill left by departing Councillors Mike Gray and Porky Sexton who served their district very diligently for a good many years. … Continue Reading

When asked what the highlights of his time at the helm of P&K were, David without hesitation says “The loyal customers and staff; and for the township, the arrival of the vineyard industry, the refurbishment of the Martinborough Hotel was a huge turning point”. … Continue Reading

Music-alive-and-well
Many Martinborough people know Vicki Jones by her amazing coloured hair. Aside from the hair, Vicki is also a talented musician who is increasingly spreading her skills and enthusiasm through our community to the benefit of many. Vicki and her husband Ed Allen were both members of the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra until comparatively recently, Vicki playing the double bass and Ed the French horn. … Continue Reading
