We are in the early stages of planning an auction to raise some funds and clear out excess items from the shed. Ted Peacock is heading up this effort and more details will come soon. Late September is the likely sale date.

The second workroom is now operational with some of the bigger machinery in place. The kitchen is painted and zip has been restored to supply hot water for many years to come.

Our new logo is now on a sign on the front of the Shed. Thanks to Mark at Mark’s Signs of Carterton for donating the sign and to Derek Wilson and Adrian Blackett for installing.

Painting of the exterior is on hold until spring when lots of hands holding paint brushes will be appreciated.
Several projects have been completed for the public over the past month with more coming in each week. Quite a few knives have been sharpened ($4.00 each), an old family bible needed a hinge reattached, and decorative carved panels which used to adorn a hearse in town were repaired and framed and returned to the museum. A toy kitchen set was designed and built for teacher Sarah Gadsby and the Koru Class of New Entrants at the Martinborough Primary school.

The open hours at the Shed are 10 to 12 noon on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Visitors are always welcome at these times to bring any knives to be sharpened or other projects Shed members may help with. It is a good opportunity to come see the transformation of the Old Courthouse that has taken place as it is being brought back to life.
