Milestones
Two milestones were reached in last year’s Blood Day. Donor Peter Kavanagh notched up his hundredth donation and the Blood Service collected more than one hundred litres from Martinborough for the first time.
Peter was relaxed this time but remembered that he was not so the first time around in the late 1960s but remarking “I’ve been fine each time since”
The Service has regularly collected almost hundred litres the one hundred and four collected is a mark which it is hoped to reach – or exceed
Each year.
Forty two thousand New Zealanders are treated with blood or products produced from blood. The need is huge. Will you become one of the exclusive four percent of very special New Zealanders who donate blood?
