Come in, come in New Year, your promise calls us here
To stride with hopeful step once more through January’s open door.
For all the world, for young and old
We pray a year of peace unfold

It has taken the month of January to begin to get into the swing again, after the busyness of Christmas, and everybody’s coming and going over the holidays
Our little country church is being well used for weddings and we enjoy being the setting for each family’s happy day. The Church family and friends celebrated with a lunch before Christmas, and a garden BBQ in the country in January.

The church diary is filling up for the weeks and months ahead – by the time this Star is out we will have held our regular stall at the February Country Fair, and getting ready for the second fair in March. These Fair Days in the Square are great occasions to meet up again with the many friends and family who’ve moved away and come back to visit.
Following Easter and just at Midwinter we plan to hold our annual Book Fair which has been so popular for several years. We are hoping to find a suitable large venue for this increasingly successful event.
Looking farther ahead, the traditional Kirk Fair has been pencilled in for October.
There will be other happenings – lunches, concerts – keep an eye out for notices round town
