Autumn gives us time for choosing seeds which bear the richest fruits

– fragile life which we can nurture into just or vain pursuits

First Church has marked the Easter season followed by Anzac Day with well-attended and meaningful services – thanks to our minister the Rev. Dr Jim Veitch.

The Country Fair in April, postponed from March went very well, although damper and chillier, and we were very pleased with the results from our country goodies stall – thanks as always to all contributers and customers.

An further opportunity to experience walking a labyrinth meditatively will be available in the Town Hall  on 3rd – 4th July, and again on 15th -16th October.

As we are concentrating on our Anniversary celebration in June, we will hold our annual Book Fair a bit later this year, 19-22 August, and these cooler days could be just the chance to begin sorting out books now to donate – more details nearer the time. And while you’re marking your diary – the Kirk Fair is down for 9th  October!

The fine-tuning of our plans for the celebration of our church’s 150th Anniversary at Queen’s birthday weekend continues, and we hope that the advertising in church and local newsletters will bring many interested people together whose families have been part of the rich history of the Church in the Wairarapa to help us tell our story.

We invite all with past and current connections to join us on Sunday, 6 June 2021 at our 10am service.  For further information please contact:  Margaret Griffiths:

God of all time

Here in this place where others have been building

we come to claim the legacy of faith.

We take in our turn the telling of your story,

and though we tremble, speak your hope, your truth.
