Pink Ribbon Breakfast

June 11, 2018 June2018 No Comments

Organised by Susan and Nick from Medici Café and Susan Stephen, the event on Friday 25th May was an outstanding success raising $7737.50 for the Breast Cancer Foundation NZ.

The event had sold out 12 days before the actual date so Bruce and Chris from the Village Café organised an event at the same time to coincide. At the completion of the breakfast at the Village Café, the group joined Medici Café and participated in the Auction.

Everybody brought out their pink attire with two lovely ladies, Anne and Jessica taking home the magnum of Schubert Rose and Dinner for Two at Peppers Parehua for the most fabulously dressed.

Accompanying the menu with a wonderful choice of 4 breakfasts was the newly released Palliser Rose Methods Traditionelle.

A highlight of the Auction saw a competitive bid for a countryside ride and coffee with Kevin and Dave on their Harley motorbikes. Wellington Wine Country provided fabulous wine for the auction, a Matt Guild print was keenly contested, Toast Martinborough tickets were snapped up as was a pink bird from the Chrystal Chain Gang.

Silent Auction items were keenly sought with fabulous prizes provided by Peonies, Jilly Havill, Soeur Design, Turret House, The Union Square, Mitre 10, Cool Change, Brackenridge Spa, Barb Buchanan, South Wairarapa Car Groomers, Ata Rangi, Scarlet, Martinborough Wine Merchants and Antoni Smolnicki.

MC extraordinaire, David Kershaw certainly can sell raffle tickets – 6 beautiful baskets from Diane Atkinson were filled with fabulous goodies from Thunderpants, Mint, Red Bicycle, Martygirl, Trilogy, Holy Smoke, Sandra Schmid Jewellery, Jessica’s Living Room, Securatel, The General Store, Fox Beauty, The Grocer, Jayah with Soul, Rosy Fenwicke, The Neighbourhood Café, Unichem Martinborough and vouchers from Tirohana,  OMG, BP Martinborough, Pinocchio’s, Burger Craft, Martinborough Brewery, Scotty’s Meat, Providore, Kitchener’s Dairy, Cool Change, Tom Wilson Motors, Whitebait Restaurant plus lovely wine from Brodie Estate, Poppies, Te Hera, Margrain Vineyard and Colombo.

Nick summed up the event by saying ‘What a great community we live in!’
