Annual Appeal – Friday 19th March 2021

Put this date in your calendar.  Last year we couldn’t hold our Annual Appeal due to that nasty five letter word – COVID!

This year, the Red Cross annual appeal will be held on Friday 19th March.  We will be outside Kitchener’s from early in the Morning until mid-day and then at P&K in the afternoon.  Come and say hi to one of our volunteers during the day.

Volunteer Recognition

Volunteers are the life blood of the Red Cross.  Late last year a function was held in Masterton to say thank you to all the volunteers who support the work of the Red Cross in Martinborough and beyond.  Val Johns (pictured) and Maureen Thurlow attended the event and received Certificates of Appreciation from Brian & Barbara Love (Wairarapa Branch President and Treasurer).  For those who couldn’t attend on the day, we delivered certificates of appreciation
To all who support the work of the Red Cross in whatever way – thank you.

Good & Ready

Congratulations to Michael Stevenson who won the 200 L Water Tank kindly donated by the SWDC as part of the Good & Ready event in November 2020

First Aid Courses

Did you know that the Red Cross run First Aid courses on a regular basis at the Red Cross Masterton Service Centre?  These courses are open to anyone for a small cost and are a great way to be prepared in case of accidents or disasters.

To book a First Aid course go to https://first-aid.redcross.org.nz/book-course/ or contact the Red Cross Wairarapa Service Centre on 0800 733 276 for more information.

New Arrangements for Community Transport

A reminder that Community Transport is now provided by St John, who will be able to transport passengers within the Wairarapa and also over the Remutaka Hill to the Hutt Valley, Wellington and Porirua.  To arrange community transport please contact St John Health Shuttle on 0800 589 630 or text 027 807 9144.
