Wharekaka Fun

September 11, 2015 September 2015 No Comments

We have zig zagged our way around the Wairarapa this August going for drives, outings and attending events!
We popped over to Featherston for a look at the Knitting Display, all the ladies who attended were very impressed with the time and effort that must have gone in to making all the wonderful blankets and items of clothing. We also accepted an invitation to the Womens Institue’s Open Day where we enjoyed their company and listened to the wonderful speaker they had invited.

There was a ‘Disco Inferno’ in Masterton later in the month when we attended Wairarapa Colleges annual production. The singing and dancing was of a very high standard and it was a great day out!
Most recently we went for a bit of an adventure driving around Greytowns outer limits. We travelled around seeing parts of the area that we hadn’t previously discovered! If you see us out and about in the van feel free to come over and say hello!

Auxiliary News
Christmas came early to Wharekaka this month as the dining room was transformed into a Winter Wonderland by the Auxiliary who held their first ever Mid-Winter Christmas morning tea. Mulled wine, fruit cake and mince pies were all on the menu as we gathered together to listen to carols and share in some early Christmas cheer! The residents had a great time and the event was such a success it is likely to become an annual event.
