What we can do – as parents and community – to help!

The South Wairarapa Principals’ Association recognized the impact of Covid on many students and their families. With sponsorship from South Wairarapa Rotary Club we are pleased to present a series of free workshops for parents and caregivers.

The first three workshops are being led by Kathryn Berkett. Kathryn is a mother of two adolescents, with a Masters in Educational Psychology. Kathryn has been learning and working in this area for over twenty years, training national and international audiences, including Police, Teachers, Parents, Social Workers, NZRugby and many more.

Our first workshop, “Looking after yourself so you can look after others,” was a great success. Everyone present took away a gem that has made a difference for so many families.

We invite you to come long to:

What’s going on? Navigating the adolescent years: Thursday 20 May, 7.00pm ANZAC Hall, Featherston

Understanding the changes, and how they affect our adolescents, will give you an increased ability to deal with the behaviour that results from these changes.

Come along to this unique, local opportunity to hear what might be the most useful information of your life!

The Raising Resilient Children Workshop has been rescheduled.

Resilience: Tuesday 15 June, 7.00pm- Greytown School Hall, 7.00pm

Understanding the neuroscience of how resilience develops, will help us recognise what we can do in our everyday lives and interactions, to increase resilience in our communities.  This session will help you understand, in a simple yet sufficient way, how we can build resilience.

The beauty of this session is that you can take the information and immediately apply it to your world.
