Winter can be a quiet time for many businesses but the Martinborough Business Association Committee has been full steam ahead!

Our Businesses

We’ve been looking to grow this ahead of our new brand and website launch (planned for spring this year) so we can really showcase the businesses that Martinborough has to offer. Currently we have 82 members, but still a few gaps to fill so will be heading your way for a chat very soon. Did you know that there are 300 businesses in Martinborough!!

The offering will include new business marketing options, business support – training, networking, relationships with key providers and services and advocacy so join up and participate to get these benefits.

Our business area

It’s great to have almost all the CCTV cameras up now, not long till the project is complete. Allan (MBA Chair) recently met with Scott Miller Police Area Commander for the Wairarapa. Scott commended the MBA initiative to protect our business /community with the CCTV camera function. He confirmed police will monitor the system on an incident /event basis

Advocacy

This is one of the associations focuses and we have just completed a submission on the SWDC spatial plan proposal after our members planning meeting to address the topic. Phillip Percy of Perception Planning and Victoria Read of Aspect Architecture did great work in pulling all the thinking together for the submission to Council.

Our events

This month – the Committee is meeting fellow committee members from Go Carterton and Featherston Gateway to look how we can work together across the region to get solutions and ideas to improve and grow our businesses and communities.

We are also arranging for our members to meet the Mayoral candidates for the up and coming elections.

If you are keen to join the association please email us at info@martinboroughnz.com or message us via our Facebook page.
