Predator Free Martinborough

September 12, 2020 September 2020 No Comments

Predator Free Martinborough is an informal group which began in late 2018.  The objective is to target rats, possums and other introduced pest animals by having traps on our own properties.

Predator Free Martinborough has a trap library and can lend traps to help people get started.  We also provide information on where people can buy their own traps.  Catches are recorded on the Predator Free NZ database https://www.trap.nz/project/1106782/info

We will be having an information sharing get together on 3 October at the property of Carol and Steve White.  This is a community event so all are welcome.  Carol and Steve use a variety of traps targeting different pest species and have consistent success with their trapping.

WHEN:   Saturday 3 October 2020 at 3pm.  The format is that we will have afternoon tea and hear a little about trapping on the property, before taking a walk around to have a look at which traps are placed where, and why.

WHERE:   50 Shooting Butts Road

PLEASE NOTE:  There is no roadside parking at the property and although there is some parking near the house, this is limited.  As the house is just 2km from the Square, please consider getting there on foot or by bike.

RSVP: to  janelenting@xtra.co.nz  with numbers attending,  Let me know also if you would like to be on the Predator Free Martinborough email list.

Predator Free Martinborough is supported by South Wairarapa Rotary Club, DOC Masterton and South Wairarapa Biodiversity Group.
